Yup, just numbers.

Super Bowl boxes (also known as squares) are a popular way for people to get in on the action. Simply put, there are 100 squares broken up into 10 columns and rows. Interested parties fill each square and numbers 0-9 are randomly assigned to a box.

The AFC team will be down the columns or across the rows and the NFC will be the opposite. After the numbers are drawn you take the corresponding digits to your box and those are your numbers for the game. It's all random.

The numbers you draw are the last digit you want your team to land on when the clock expires.

For example, if you have AFC 7 and NFC 3 -- very good numbers to have -- you are rooting for the Chiefs to lead 7-3 after the first quarter. A 17-3 Kansas City lead at halftime would also work, as would a 17-13 KC lead after the third. A final score of Chiefs, 27, Buccaneers 23 would be a winner too.

However, There's no skill to this type of game. It's all luck. With the rise of two-point conversions and analytically driven decisions, the score lines sometimes find themselves a bit out of whack, and maybe you can get lucky with some obscure numbers.

It's more difficult to land on these numbers unless you get higher scoring games where 28 and 35 come into play, for example. It's a tough start to draw one of these, but like we mentioned earlier anything is possible.

If there is a rooting strategy for the lesser used numbers, root for field goals early and touchdowns late. With field goals coming first, the margins become a bit more skewed from the norm, and teams may throw out the traditional game plan.

Do not sleep on the potential missed extra point. That would have repercussions throughout the game such as going for two later on. It also puts more obscure numbers like six, two, eight and nine into play with teams likely to attempt more two-point conversions.
